Each quarter, the team at American Commodity partners with a local organization. Sometimes it’s educating the community on wealth through property investment. Other times it is serving in areas of need throughout the community. Recently, their service has been aimed at helping in the fight against food insecurity in the Orlando area and around the world.
Fighting Hunger
The first is the Orlando branch of the organization Rise Against Hunger. Last year, American Commodity was honored and proud to sponsor an event that created ten thousand meals for food insecure people around the world. The team, along with other volunteers, create an assembly line to measure and package rice and soy. These meals are sent to countries and communities around the world to feed adults and children. What’s even better is that Rise Against Hunger is already working in those countries, with residents, to create sustainable food sources and the meals packaged at events in the U.S. are closing the gap in the meantime.
The second event impacts the community of downtown Orlando. This October, the team partnered with United Against Poverty (UP). UP is a fascinating organization in that they not only want to help those struggling, but empower them by embracing people as members who need a hand-up not a hand-out and empowering them to make changes. While UP serves members through their Life Enrichment Center and an adult education program, the American Commodity team was excited to serve in the Member Share Grocery Program. This program allows members to shop at a full-fledged grocery store for the grocery, household and personal care products they want and need. The items are sold at up to 70% discount of what they’d find in other stores. Smiles were large and abundant as the American Commodity team stocked shelves, freezers and assembled signage for the store.
Real Estate Education
In addition to the recent work with causes related to hunger, American Commodity also believes in financial education within the community. The team regularly hosts free workshops related to financial investments through real estate. They believe it is important for everyone to make informed decisions when it comes to their financial future and yet find many people have no idea what is involved in buying or selling a home. It’s not a course taught at the high school or collegiate level. No one should make decisions without having all the knowledge. Workshops include team members explaining and answering questions about what it means to own a home, what the steps toward homeownership is and when and where to place your investment. Attendees enjoy the knowledge of a professional realtor and leave with a border understanding of the process. They also gain friends in the industry since American Commodity extends their information and is happy to answer follow up questions in days to come.
American Commodity knows the value of serving others. From those needing a hand-up to the homeowner looking to buy and sell to the investor looking to diversify his or her portfolio with commercial real estate investments, the agents and brokers of American Commodity know what it means to serve. Community service, worldwide service, customer service and personal service. You’ll get them all from an American Commodity team member. How can we serve you today?
